It has huge Grasslands hence this zone has probability of Tiger sighting the maximum. The Guide and the Tiger probably have a very intense game of  hide and seek in Dhela. Similarly, Langoors and Deer make alarm calls in the jungle.

As a result, the guide becomes aware of the presence of the tiger nearby. Consequently the jungle has these kind of movements.  Finally,the guide instructs the driver to drive probably, where  the guide thinks the Tiger is hiding.The Jim Corbett Safari becomes very enjoyable due to this. This zone is very  dense and paradise for bird lovers. Therefore, being on a higher altitude  it is cooler than other zones in Jim Corbett. Quite often you can spot Great Hornbill and Serpent Eagle here. Being a bit far from the city a Safari to the Durgadevi Zone starts early so as to reach the Entry gate on time. Above all, Leopards sighting are very common in this zone.

Sitabani Zone

Sitabani

This zone an elephant corridor. Therefore, one can regularly spot Tigers, Leopards and Elephants here.  In Addition, Jim Corbett Safari in Sitavani Zone is a 50 kms drive.

Travelling through this zone you also come across the famous sitabani temple. Likewise, the saying goes that Goddess Sita along with her kids  have spend some time in this temple. Safari across this zone also takes you to Powalgarh. Most noteworthy, is that Jim Corbett had shot the Bachelor of Powlgarh (the largest recorded Tiger till date) in this region. As a result,  from here on wards Jim Corbett had change of heart and he became a Conservator of Tigers.

Mandatory Procedure of Online Booking Jim Corbett Safari :

  • Visitors planning to go in a Jim Corbett Safari Zone have to provide Identity Cards  in Advance.
  • 50% of the booking amount has to be paid in advance.
  • The Jim Corbett Safari once booked can not be canceled or transferred.
  • One permit covers only 1 safari zone. Furthermore, the permit mentions the name of the Safari zone.
  • At the time of Jungle Safari you have to carry the Hard Copy of Identity Cards.
  •  Safari timings are strictly adhere to.
  • Wear dark clothes like Green and Brown during the Jungle Safari.
  • Maintain the Decorum of the Zone you are visiting.

Rules And Regulations

  1. Inside the tiger reserve the director CTR is responsible for all reservations .In Addition, The director can change or cancel any reservations without prior notice.
  2. The Tiger Reserve does not permit to carry firearms of any kind  within .
  3.  Tiger Reserve does not permit to take the Pets inside.
  4. In Tiger Reserve walking or trekking is strictly prohibited.
  5. Tiger Reserve does not allow driving after sunset.
  6. The Tiger Reserve allows for no cooking within  and at Dhikala and Bijrani tourist complexes. In other rest houses visitors can cook within the provided space.
  7. Visitors are required to carry a litter bag while entering the Tiger Reserve and bring back their non-biodegradable litter (tin cans, plastic, glass bottles, metal foils etc.) outside the Reserve. Similarly, throwing litter inside the Tiger Reserve other than in garbage bins will invite severe penalties.
  8. Official registered guide is compulsory on all excursions.
  9. Smoking outside residential complexes/rest houses and lighting of any kind of fire is strictly prohibited.
  10. In the Tiger Reserve you cannot play transistors and tape recorders.
  11. Fines and Penalties

  12. Visitors are prohibited from taking vehicles off the designated routes thereby causing damage to plant or animal life or their habitat.
  13. In the Tiger Reserve you cannot blow horns or drive above the speed limit.
  14. Restricted Zones prohibits the entry for the Visitors.
  15. You cannot shout, tease or chase animals. For instance, Attempts to feed them are prohibited and will invite severe penalties.
  16. Accommodation occupied by the visitors to be advised  as reserved on the first day itself or send prior intimation to hold the accommodation.
  17. Maximum two adults and two children (below 12 years) per room are allowed to stay in the tourism zone. One extra bed can be provided on payment of prescribed charges.
  18. Corbett Tiger Reserve organizes conducted tours to day visit in Dhikala Tourism Zone.
  19.   All Tourism Zone  prohibits the entry of private vehicle.
  20. Entry into the Tiger Reserve with or without a pass in on the own risk of the visitor.
  21. No transfer of Permit.
  22.  CTR prohibits non vegetarian food.

 In the Tiger Reserve all visitors are governed by the provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act and rules made there.
